Children's Church is led by a small adult team and caters for children aged 3-11 years. They meet in two groups on the second and fourth Sunday mornings in St Mary’s Centre after an initial family time together in church. Urban Saints published material is used to help children discover the bible and the foundations of our faith. All children are welcome to join - please contact the office for more information.
In conjunction with Aylesbury Vale Youth for Christ, St Mary's Church runs a youth cafe for teenagers in school years 7 and upwards. It is held every Tuesday afternoon (in termtime) from 4-6pm at the Youth & Community Centre, next to the Junior School. A variety of outdoor games, craft activities, games consoles and refreshments are on offer.
Youth Cell Groups
Our youth cell groups involve around twenty young people aged 12 - 17 years. These are peer-led and meet in St Mary's Centre on Monday evenings. All Groups meet together during the evening for a social time before dividing into their groups. Study material for the groups is prepared by church members to meet the particular needs of the groups.
We are a partner Church in this holiday week held in Thame each summer which attracted 750 children and over 320 adult volunteer helpers in 2009 (our second year). Lighthouse provides an opportunity for children and young people to participate in sports, craft and music and through songs, fun activities and talks to learn more about God and understand what difference Christian values can make to all our lives.
