James: Mercy Triumphs
James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple with Beth Moore’s 8-session study James: Mercy Triumphs.
Caféplus+ is a breakfast café, open on the first Sunday morning of every month from 9:30am to 12:30pm in Haddenham Village Hall. The main aim is to help to bring the church into the community and at the same time help our community to discover church.
The Caféplus+ café offers (fairly traded) coffee, tea, continental breakfast and the Sunday newspapers for visitors who wish to eat, drink, read the paper & socialise. A toddler group operates in an area adjacent to the café throughout the morning and Children's Church meets for 45 minutes in the Walter Rose Room. A presentation called 'Food 4 Thought' is generally held at 10:30am in the main hall where contemporary issues are examined from a Christian perspective. We also operate a Quiet Space in a separate room where people can go to chill out or receive prayer ministry. Special events are arranged for most Caféplus+ mornings - bicycle workshop, art exhibition, swapshop, apple pressing and more.
Caféplus+ is a new way of expressing church and it's an opportunity for us at St. Mary's to get out of the church building and meet people outside our fellowship. It has featured in the national press and in a number of books because it's at the cutting edge of what churches are doing in the UK to engage in a new way with the communities they serve. If you would like to know what's on and coming up at Caféplus+ then please visit the Caféplus+ website.
If you are interested in finding out more about Caféplus+ and the background to how and why we replaced one of our Sunday morning services with this unusual and exciting initiative please let us know. If you are from another church and would like to visit Caféplus+ to see what we are doing, again please contact us.
