Christenings

At St Mary's we love to christen babies, young people and adults. It's a great privilege to be involved in people’s lives at such an important time for them.

Christening (also known as baptism), is the beginning of a person’s life with God in the church. As well as being a time of celebration, it's also a time when promises are made before God so it's important you understand these.  If you'd like to find out more, please email the office, so we can arrange for you to meet one of the team. 

Christening is a great opportunity for the whole family to join in the life of the local church if they don't already belong and to see this as the start of a journey of faith.

If you are not sure about the christening process, we also offer a service of Thanksgiving. Please contact us to find out more about this. If you have already been baptised(christened) as a baby or a child and wish to consciously affirm your faith in God, we hold an occasional service called Confirmation.
